What We Like About Perfect Privacy
This service has many features that other VPN services do not offer. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest pros to Perfect Privacy.
Options, Options, Options
With this service, it gives you more options than you’ll ever need. Regardless of what package you choose, you get OpenVPN and IPSec, SSH, SOCKS5, and PPTP proxies. For most people, OpenVPN is enough, and unless you have a solid understanding of these proxies, you should probably leave it alone. Either way, it’s always good to have choices.
In addition to protocol choices you also have the option to string together up to four different servers so you can hop around quickly and easily.
256-Bit Encryption
Today, 256-bit is the industry standard, and no hackers have been able to crack through it. This military-grade encryption should always be your requirement when shopping around for a VPN. So far, Perfect Privacy does very well when it comes to security and privacy.
No Logging, No Lies
So many times, we find logging policies that have fancy jargon to make it difficult for people to understand. That is not the case with Perfect Privacy. It does not retain any logs, and it does not store any data. The design of this VPN prevents data from ever being stored so you know you are safe with this service.
No Leaking
Sometimes VPNs will leak your real IP address. A VPN really has one job, and that is to prevent anyone from finding your real IP address, so if it’s leaking out, the service is of no use right?
We did some research to find some tests of Perfect Privacy, and across six different tests, there were no IP leaks and no potential malware or viruses either.
Netflix Works (kind of)
If you check out the Perfect Privacy website, it never makes any claims stating that it helps you bypass geo-restrictions or anything like that. However, during our research, we did find that some people were having success in getting around Netflix’s geo-restrictions.
Despite this, we expect that you won’t have the easiest time sifting through all of its servers trying to find one that works. So, if you are specifically looking to access Netflix through a VPN, you might want to choose a different service.
What We Dislike About Perfect Privacy
We’re not out of the woods yet. Perfect Privacy might be great, but it’s not perfect. (ironic, right?) Here are some of our issues with this VPN.
Slow Download Speeds
We have seen much slower VPNs than Perfect Privacy, but we have also seen much faster. During our research, we found that users experienced a speed drop of about 40-60%. And as usual, the US servers are slower than the EU ones.
Small Network
Perfect Privacy only has 55 servers, which is nothing compared to the thousands that some other VPN networks have. When you have a low server count, you almost always have to deal with slow speeds because the servers are crowded, and you might be far away from the location of the server.
Our Verdict
If you are looking for a leak-free and secure VPN, then Perfect Privacy would be an excellent choice. If you are interested in streaming Netflix and torrenting, then you might need to keep looking. Or check out our best VPN’s for torrenting list which contains some other great choices.
