Litecoin has become the official Cryptocurrency Partner for a UFC main event rematch, as noted by Litecoin in a recent announcement.
Named UFC 232: JONES vs. GUSTAFFSON 2, the highly anticipated event brings together the former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson for an MMA fight.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 29 at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
Entering the Octagon
The Litecoin Foundation noted that it had partnered with several great brands and companies in 2018 and that there are many reasons why it makes sense for Litecoin to enter the world of UFC.
The Litecoin Foundation says that the UFC is community-driven, just like Litecoin. It said:
“Over the last 25 years, UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, has evolved from a tiny grassroots movement to a global phenomenon, largely based on the extremely passionate community it has cultivated along the way.”nd th
The Litecoin Foundation also stated that the extremely passionate community has played an instrumental role in the growth of the sport.
According to the Litecoin Foundation, the partnership with the UFC is a milestone for crypto as no other coin has sponsored a UFC event before.
The partnership will also spread awareness about digital currencies as the Litecoin logo will be displayed on the Octagon canvas.
It could help to spark interest in and drive engagement with cryptocurrencies as the event is followed by millions of viewers around the world.
Litecoin’s Future UFC Possibilities
The Litecoin Foundation suggests that the UFC 232 event sponsorship will “hopefully” be the first step in a long partnership with the UFC.
Though Litecoin has gone through some hard times regarding its price during the 2018 crypto winter, with the currency’s value eroding rapidly, it has been working to increase adoption.
On December 26, Litecoin announced on Twitter that it had finally opened a bank account.
We finally successfully opened a bank account. That’s a long journey!
