However, despite its ethical practices, is TigerVPN the best VPN for you? Our review should equip you with the information you’ll need to decide.

What is TigerVPN?

TigerVPN is a VPN service focused on reliability and trustworthiness. According to the company website, TigerVPN does not store any activity logs. In an age where doing so has become all too common for VPN providers, this feature immediately stands out. When using TigerVPN, customers will find that there are 63 connections in 43 countries.

This service is unique because it offers Meshed IPs. Instead of directing one individual to an IP address, the company puts groups of customers together on a single IP address. The company likens it to riding a bus. From the outside, all that is visible is the structure of the bus.

There could be one person on the inside, or 30. Regardless, you have no way of knowing who is on the bus. Meshed IPs work in the same way.

TigerVPN also seeks to shield its customers from other VPN users by using a hardware firewall. Additionally, the company also uses 256-bit encryption, the strongest available today. U.S. government agencies rely on 256-bit encryption, as it is virtually uncrackable.

If you think that TigerVPN itself will not be enough, you can use it with some of the more secure browsers that we have reviewed. The one we recommend is Tor browser. Combining a VPN with Tor will make your private browsing even more private. However, using Tor does drastically reduce your browsing speed.

Lastly, TigerVPN stands out because customers can use it on an array of devices, including:

Pros

There are many things to like about TigerVPN. You’ll find some of our favorites below.

Ease of Use

TigerVPN is very easy to use. Once you download the software and create an account, the product installs on the taskbar. When you open the program from the taskbar, you’ll see a list of recommended servers from which you can choose. All you need to do is pick a server. The software will then notify you when you’re connected.

The fact that this platform is so easy to use makes it an excellent option for beginners who don’t have much experience with VPN services but are still looking for safety on the internet.

Excellent Customer Support

Another thing that stood out about TigerVPN was that it offered incredible customer support. Not only do customers have access to a ticketing system, but they also have access to live chat as well. Furthermore, TigerVPN provides its customers with access to a knowledge database that they can use to troubleshoot problems.

Lastly, TigerVPN has a support team dedicated to monitoring the status of its network and servers. For instance, the company operates its DNS servers. TigerVPN also provides SLA monitoring, ensuring that its servers are always up and running.

Some Servers Work with Netflix

If you’re looking to use your VPN provider to access Netflix, you may have some luck when using TigerVPN. Although Netflix attempts to block VPNs from accessing its site, some of TigerVPNs servers still work. For instance, we found that the U.S. server in Denver, Colorado provided us access to Netflix.

This is always changing however and you will need to test it out for yourself. We cannot guareentee it will work. However we can that Neflix works with Nordvpn or Expressvpn, or  some of the others we have written about in our best vpn for Netflix guide.

Ample Bandwidth

TigerVPN says that it purchases premium bandwidth to help increase speeds. Additionally, the company says that it reserves 30 percent of its bandwidth at all times in case of an emergency.

However, as we detail in the “Cons” section below, this did not necessarily result in consistent performance. But, if TigerVPN continues to purchase premium bandwidth, it could yield more consistent results in the future.

Cons

While there’s a lot to like about TigerVPN, there are a couple of negatives that stand out as well.

Inconsistency in Performance Speeds

During our testing, we found that the performance speeds of TigerVPN were quite inconsistent. Considering the following download speeds for each of the three servers that we tested:

  • US Server, Download Speed of 14.5 Mbps
  • Netherlands Server, Download Speed of 33.5 Mbps
  • Hong Kong Server, Download Speed of 12.25 Mbps

If these seem inconsistent, the upload speeds are perhaps even more so:

  • US Server, Upload Speed of 4.75 Mbps
  • Netherlands Server, Upload Speed of 28.5 Mbps
  • Hong Kong Server, Upload Speed of 3.0 Mbps

Poor Killswitch Support

One of the things that we stumbled across when conducting our TigerVPN Review was that the kill switch is only available when using this app in Windows. A kill switch is critical because it helps keep your information safe if the connection timed out. Links are more likely to time out when using public WiFi or other reliable networks.

So, if you plan to use TigerVPN on your Android, iOS, or Mac devices, you should be aware of the fact that there is no kill switch. Which is a big problem and so if you are worried about your privacy then you are better off looking elsewhere.

Pricing

If TigerVPN is appealing to you, there are a couple of purchasing options that you could choose from. TigerVPN allows you to pay with PayPal, credit card, or license code. The company also offers a seven-day money back guarantee on all of its products.

One Month

The One-Month Plan costs about 12 Euros or approximately $13.50. Customers will receive access to the VPN service on up to two devices at once, no matter if it’s a mobile or desktop device.

Additionally, instead of receiving access on two devices, those who purchase the One-Year Plan will gain access on up to five devices at once.

Three Years

Customers receive the most value when purchasing the Three-Year Plan. Users can buy this plan for 2.75 Euros per month, equaling about $110 for the entirety of the subscription. The features included in this plan are the same as the ones included in the One-Year Plan.

The primary difference is in the cost, as customers receive an additional two years of coverage for about $20.

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for a standard VPN service that will keep you safe while browsing the internet, we feel that you should consider TigerVPN. The product is excellent for beginners who don’t know their way around networks but are searching for an affordable solution to their internet privacy needs.

The security that TigerVPN offered stood out to us when conducting this review. We liked the 256-bit encryption and other security features that the company included with this product. We also appreciated how easy it was to use this product. Upon downloading, TigerVPN installs itself in a location that’s easy to access and operate.

TigerVPN is also excellent for beginners because of how much time and effort it dedicates to customer service. As a beginner, there’s a chance that you’re going to run into problems when using a VPN. Fortunately, TigerVPN is there for you. And, you’ll receive all of these features at an affordable rate.

TigerVPN Final Verdict
TigerVPN Final Verdict

One of the most significant downsides that we saw with TigerVPN was that performance speeds were somewhat inconsistent. However, if you’re interested in using the product for basic security, as opposed to performance, you may not have much of an issue. Similarly, you could find servers that are faster than others, rendering this point moot.

At the end of the day, TigerVPN is decent, but we personally wouldn’t recommend it over any on our best VPN list.
