Pros

When reviewing Touch VPN, you’ll find that there are a few things that make this service stand out. We’ve listed some of the “Pros” below.

The Service is Free

One of the things that stands out about Touch VPN is that it is entirely free. There are no download or registration fees. As soon as you download the software, you can install it onto your device and begin using it instantly.

To be honest though, we never really consider this to be an advantage for a VPN. Because FREE VPN’s always come with some sort of catch which makes it not worth having. Also today a paid VPN can cost as little as $2 a month, it is so cheap, why would you go for a FREE unsafe option like TouchVPN.

Ease of Use

Touch VPN also stands out because of how easy it is to use. All you need to do is download the correct file for your device. Upon opening the file, you’ll create an account. After creating the account, you can gain access to an instant VPN connection.

Great, so what are the disadvantages?

Cons

When compiling our Touch VPN review, we found that there were significantly more “Cons” than there were “Pros.” Below, you’ll find a breakdown of some of the most significant concerns we had about Touch VPN.

Touch VPN Logs Your Information

The entire point of using a VPN is to remain anonymous on the internet and keep yourself safe from hackers. While Touch VPN may keep you safe from intruders, the company certainly does not abide by the “anonymity” part. That’s because the company tracks and logs all of your information and data, such as your browsing history.

The company then sells this information to third parties. Because the company does not charge a membership fee for its services, it needs to make money in other ways.

It does so by selling your information to third-parties. Obviously, when doing so, you completely lose any sense of anonymity you had anticipated having.

Furthermore, Touch VPN requires you to create an account before using its services. This means you’ve attached your name and other information to the data that you compile when browsing online.

If your planning on downloading torrents, playing online casino or doing anything where you would like to remain private then don’t use this. As you may as well be broadcasting all your search history.

“Five Eyes” Jurisdiction

Five Eyes if an intelligence alliance made of up:

  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Canada
  • United States
  • United Kingdom

If a VPN provider exists in a country that’s under Five Eyes jurisdiction, the company could be forced to hand over any information it has compiled at any time. Many VPNs don’t collect your information when using their services, so this is not an issue.

However, because Touch VPN logs your data, you could have your entire personal record on the internet turned over to an intelligence agency instantly.

Because Touch VPN logs all of your data, you’re at a much more significant risk than you would be when using other services.

Lack of a Kill Switch

One of the other most significant problems with Touch VPN is that it does not come with a kill switch. If your internet connection is interrupted when browsing, a kill switch ensures that your information is still safe. It’s a vital component of VPNs and is something that the best VPN services always offer.

Touch VPN does not include a kill switch feature with its services. Thus, you may find that Touch VPN is risky to use, especially if you plan to do so in a place where there are constant interruptions to your internet connection.

Spotty connections tend to occur mostly over free WiFi networks. Keeping your information safe while you’re on an unsecured WiFi network is supposed to be one of the most significant benefits of a VPN. But without a kill switch feature, you have no way of knowing whether your information is being exposed routinely.

Pricing

As mentioned, one of the most significant benefits of Touch VPN is that its services are entirely free. You can download the software for free from the company’s site.

However, “what you see is what you get.” The fact that the service is free could end up costing you dearly in the long run, as it means that your information will likely end up in the hands of marketers. Having a third-party sell your private internet data should set off alarms.

Other Factors to Consider

One of the other most significant factors that you’ll want to consider is that Touch VPN does not allow access to streaming websites like Netflix or torrenting websites. It’s for these types of sites that many users will want a VPN that gets around geo-restrictions. However, because the service does not allow access to these sites, its ability to bypass geo-restrictions is now almost worthless.

If you want a service that allows both then check our Nordvpn, Expressvpn, Cyberghost which are some of our top recommended VPN’s.

Remember that Touch VPN also does not provide private browsing. While your information may remain safe from hackers, it could end up in the hands of marketers or other third-parties. So, the primary benefits of a VPN are essentially rendered useless when using Touch VPN.

Final Verdict

The saying, “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is” is quite applicable when it comes to Touch VPN. When looking for VPN options, you may be tempted to consider Touch because it is free. However, downloading free VPNs come with its fair share of dangers.

Touch VPN logs your information, therefore defeating the purpose of using a secure network. Once the company records your info, it sells it to third-party companies. Additionally, we found numerous other issues with Touch VPN, such as the fact that there is no built-in kill switch.

To the average users on the internet, these features may not seem like much. However, those familiar with VPNs know that Touch VPN is quite risky and is not worthy of consideration. At the end of the day, the risk is not worth the reward. You would likely be much better off purchasing a VPN that you know is secure instead of cutting corners and downloading Touch VPN.

  1. I literally use this to access restricted sites in my country, I don’t really care about the selling of my useless data and I didn’t create an account. please point me towards the “good” vpns that are $2 per month that do not require a 3+ year membership up front, sure they offer a monthly service but they are MUCH more expensive.

  2. I have a question still unanswered. Someone know if this free vpn can hide laptop activity? It’s connected to a Nighthawk router extender/Home network.
